I'll let you know as soon as it gets posted, after I upload it of course. ---SB Kit CW Kederich replies: "Hey! I am in a couple of yahoo group RPG's more or less centered on gryphon characters--contact me if you are interested. And, I am very much looking forward to seeing this new work you are doing. Let me know if I might help. Hope it has action!"
| 4 Nov 2007 | Floriane Nwar Mohr | Loading...Woaow you're really good with griffin; keep it up!!! I like this creature!!! Kit CW Kederich replies: "Merci. I am dedicated to Gryphons, and want to make my gallery a Gryphonic tour de force, or Gryphon juste milieu, if you understand. At the risk of being proud, I think I have done more gryphons in action than anyone else, and should post more here for all to see. But it is for the viewer, the audience, that they are here." | |

| 14 Oct 2008 | Theresa Sturgeon | Loading...I do love my horses, but have always had a facination with griffens and dragons, I dont put ears on them for the fact that well,, just about everyone who draws then does, I tend to try and do things that challenge how people perceive certain creatures or objects,, plus this way no one can ever say hey,, you copied that! lol I dont use anything as an example,, each and everyone of my drawings come straight from my imagination,, this one I did for my hubby, but also I thought it would be nice to see two of the stronger mythical beast having a spat of sorts, it took me roughly about two months,, I dont have a scanner so I have to take pics of my art with a digital camera and sad to say,, you loose alot of detail that way,, but each of the feathers on the griffen are detailed out and shaded one by one,,,and the same on the dragon,,,lol I get myself into trouble because I become obsessed with detail,, and lol it takes forever to finish a pic,, but thank you for all the nice comments left,, from a great artist like yourself it does really mean alot,, I consider myself a hobby artist,, and amature with alot to learn, but I dont mind critism it can after all be the best teacher,,,,,,,,, Kit CW Kederich replies: "Hey, maybe if I make a really short reply it will work! I keep trying to reply." | |

| 7 May 2010 | Tom Draco Noir Taylor | Loading...Howdy Kit! Nice to see another Westerner here, we live in Southern Arizona, and once raised a full blooded wolf pup-intelligent and fascinating animals. Your griffins are all excellent, and I hope you will have time to color a few, though the sketches are just fine as is. Kit CW Kederich replies: "I do love my Canis Lupis compadres. And, I miss my salad days at the old U of A, Tucson. Long, long ago,,,. Wish I had taken art back then. Oh, well, got to it eventually. I do have colored pics--oil paintings, large size. And, I will photograph them,,, eventually. Keep on me to do that! Please." | |
| 7 May 2010 | Robert worth nuckels | Loading...Hey, Kit....it’s me again.....i don’t think i answered your question enough about my technique. Although each picture is different, ONE thing that i always do is alternate transperent acrylic wash with some tightening with my fiberi castelli pens : each picture is a steady, rhthymic alternation of wash & pen (only in the most satureated areas. wash.pen.wash.pen. etc. some artists, like Davie Dorman only use the pen tightening at the very END of the painting. I do it with EACH layer of color glaze.(& i use a LOT of those.) Now John Howe does something similiar : he’ll build up an area, like grass, then take a house painting brush & lay a fairly opaque color, then build it up with ink & watercolor., usually 2 or 3 times.
as far as the minimulistic areas - I never use pen on the sky, clouds, or any kind of areform areas -distant strutres, a little stippling. but mostly watercolor-style acrylic washs. any questions, gimme another holler. have a nice weekend. Kit CW Kederich replies: "Hmmm, fascinating, thank you! I just don’t know acrylic glazes, though I’ve done washes and glazes in oils. And, keep promising to try that using Liquin for water colors. You should try oils, they are a world unto themselves. I carved out a little niche of my own techniques, and decided it was big enough for my fantasies--so far."
| 10 May 2010 | Robert worth nuckels | Loading...Loved your comments about Frazetta (who i understand died this morning, bless his beloved soul) Vallejo (very true, sadly) & whelan. I completely relate to the ’german’ tenancity, & about Colorado (my mother is from Colorado Springs. SCARY Mountains.) I do acrylic glazes simply diluting the paint with water. I have worked with Oil paints, but my own bi-polar (or the equivalent, Lord Knows i take enough prescripts for my disorders, as well as back pain, Cancer (t4 level) osteoporosis,) does not lend iself well with oil paints. I love the look, but I am the type of guy who is best suited for mixed media. I will be keeping in touch with you. I love your art & attitude. Kit CW Kederich replies: "Yes, I just heard about Frazetta this evening,,, ironic timing. I hesitate to comment much upon the recently departed.
On oils, they are indeed very difficult, yet centuries of art have shown their value. Life is difficult, even witout our assorted physical,,, dilemas. God knows I have a few myself. What worries me about doing computer art is that it has that feel of instant gratification--and not the feel of long-disciplined study. On the other hand, I am old enough to need some things sooner, rather than later, heh.
Thank you for your time spent here."
